AIGP Certification Cost and Maintenance Guide 2026: Exam, Training and Renewal
The IAPP AIGP Certification has two different cost layers: the initial certification process and the ongoing cost of maintaining the credential. The current AIGP exam costs $649 for IAPP members and $799 for nonmembers. The certification term lasts two years, and credential holders must maintain the certification through applicable continuing education and maintenance requirements.

What Does the Exam Fee Include?
The AIGP exam purchase gives candidates access to schedule the exam.
After purchase, candidates have one year to complete it.

2.75 hours of testing time

IAPP uses an official AIGP certification seal/badge in its certification and training materials.

IAPP states that candidates who pass still need to complete the applicable certification activation and maintenance requirements for the credential to remain valid.
Is IAPP Membership Required?
No, but membership can affect the economics of certification.
